In a prosperous post-2090s world, humanity's lack of challenges stifles innovation, prompting the X Republic government to launch the Fearless Program by the late 21st century. This mandatory initiative simulates physical and mental obstacles for children to foster resilience and creativity...

The Public Station in A Fearless World, a multi-purpose transport hub for planetary and space travel, mirrors modern train stations or airports, featuring foreboding art installations like sculptures and murals that celebrate the nation’s culture and historical influences.

As our first public interior for this eco-brutalist world, every detail was meticulously crafted to create a rich, harmonic space, exploring how far art and culture can be integrated under one ceiling.

Three massive sculptures, set in the station’s center, narrate timeless tales of Western civilization.

We are deeply interested in the Renaissance’s obsession with using the image of man to pay respect to Judeo-Christian values. This project was the opportunity to combine Renaissance imagery with Soviet Era aesthetics.

… depicts humanity’s chaotic yet harmonic dance to pursue the highest good, beyond a biblical narrative. A bronze veil of time, weaving in and out, reflects the ethereal nature of this universal quest.

… portrays self-consciousness. Eve, tempted by the snake (Satan), takes the forbidden apple, sharing it with Adam. Gaining awareness, Adam cowardly blames Eve for their "burden" of consciousness under God’s judgment, ignoring her deception.

… explores envy and faith. Cain, a farmer, kills his shepherd brother Abel out of spite when God favors Abel’s sincere offerings over Cain’s questioned ones. Abel shields a lamb, reaching for divine light, as Cain strikes with a club.

… is a 2110’s mural envisioning space colonies as humanity’s salvation amid a booming, commercialized space race. Interstellar settlements span the solar system, blending aged metallic composites and shimmering glass tiles in a brutalist style inspired by Eastern Europe.

This rich worldbuilding sets the stage for further exploration in A Fearless World.

The lounge is a statement of this world’s cultural influence and reflective brutalism. The shapes and forms that convey the arc movement throughout the station reflects into several props of the lounge.

We take this opportunity to develop some narratively driven materials along the mentioned forms: glass blocks and tiles, smooth concrete and semi-holographic projection.

Glass blocks are one of the hallmark trends of 1980s architecture, utilized in both brutalist and constructivist structures. The refractive micro-detail of the glass tiles, whether underlit or let alone, reflects the arc movement and resonates with the rest of the interior. Additionally, The semi-holographic projection for the boarding info screen displays glowing texts against smooth, grey concrete.

The underground section of the station features lower walking corridors with platforms for transport access. It includes high-relief murals, displays, seats, stairs, and moving walkways, emphasizing material contrast. A reflective underhang creates an artificial rippling light effect, echoing the theme of reflected shapes and forms.
