Synopsis

In the near future, life is guided by a mysterious mega-corporation known as Monad Systems, which claims to maintain humanity’s “Sanctuary”—a pristine city under constant surveillance and control. Monad Systems subtly promises utopia but instead enforces compliance with an eccentric mix of “positive reinforcement” programs, strange communal rituals, and slogans like “Together in Symmetry.”

Exploration 003

Sanctuary Urban Layering

Environment Exploration

The third concept exploration depicts the rooftop view outward to the cityscape of Sanctuary. While this layout is not final, it is crucial for us here in Beyond Us Studios to get urban design right in any city. For this version of Sanctuary, we showcase 4 different types of architectural arrangments separated by height, density and graphics to form the district in focus.

Exploration 002

Sanctuary Symmetry

Environment Exploration

The second concept exploration depicts another public space where we have the first look of Sanctuary from ground level. The image is an interplay of symmetry and reflection in the context of a megacity. The central facility depicted here is an algamation of organic structure and rigid window lines - an parametric experiment of graphic elements. The idea is to convey “amazing” and “unsettling: simultaneously.

Pandora’s Box

Concept Sculpture

“The gods gave a box to Pandora filled with terrible things and told her never to open it.“

The first concept exploration of project INSYNC regards a surreal and off-kilter public sculpture. Despite the freshly peaceful early morning mood, the sculpture depicts the human struggle spilling out of the Pandora box. Such a contrast of peace and struggle narratively represents INSYNC and the expansion of the story.
